Additions, Renovations or New Home all vary due to size, type of
construction and required detail. The Jacobean, Colonial, Cape
Cod, Georgian and Federalist Styles were Timber Frame Homes.
We offer the various construction types as an alternative to
maintain control of the budget. A good Timber Frame
is
expensive and the least expensive frame may cause serious problems
in the not too distant future.

If you desired item to be used or carried over to an addition sketches will be made. We should have sufficient information to provide provide an initial design and statement of work to begin the process of obtaining quotations and select a contractor. As Building Codes expand to include the
environment, sustainability, energy efficiency and a dozen other
areas the the size of the drawing packages becomes large.
We agree with the inclusion of these items to our
designing tasks. The addition of these responsibilities
comes at a time when CADD software is experiencing major
improvements allowing Designers and Architects to produce the
added details with little or no increase in time or price.

Timber Framing
TF is a growing industry and will continue to
grow. Many TF firms prefer to design the frames in house.
Selecting the TF firm can be difficult when originality, price and
delivery are taken into account.
USGBC
USGBC is the leader of the Green Building
initiative as well as the source for education
and implementation of the LEED Standard.
NAHB
NAHB has a Green Build but their standard is applied to Homes. The standard as it applies to homes is missing some items which exist in LEED. I am not sure that isn't a good thing.
